History
The Spanish Peaks Business Alliance was founded in July 2018 by Arica Andreatta, Sarah Jardis, and Aubrey Lykins. Officially chartered as an independent group under Huerfano County Economic Development Inc., the Alliance was created to help our region nurture existing businesses, cultivate entrepreneurship, and encourage business to business networking. The Alliance hosted the inaugural Holiday Giving Celebration at La Plaza Inn in Walsenburg in December 2018. The Alliance convened the Spanish Peaks Retail and Tourism Partnership in June 2019 to help focus community leaders on business issues and give businesses a platform to voice their concerns and mobilize for action. In November 2019, the Alliance held its first elections and adopted its bylaws.

Retail Sector Partnership
Sector partnerships bring together multiple employers within an industry to collaborate with colleges, schools, labor, workforce agencies, community organizations and other community stakeholders to align training with the skills needed for that industry to grow and compete.
The Spanish Peaks Business Alliance supports the Region 14 Retail and Tourism Sector Partnership, which launched on June 24, 2019. Stay tuned for more information on the Partnership and for future meetings.
