The Spanish Peaks Harp Retreat is seeking donations in order to afford a harp teacher to visit Gardner Schools once a month!

Spanish Peaks Harp Retreat

  • Spanish Peaks Harp Retreat is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. The organization is run by its three-member volunteer board.

“Harps for Huerfano" program offers Huerfano schools free harps and, when available, free lessons for school instructors and students. Retreat was able to collect and distribute harps to the schools through generous donations from our attendees and community members.

While the program was on hold during COVID, our volunteer teacher moved out of state. The Retreat is, therefore, seeking to raise money for a harp teacher to come to Gardner.*  (We are starting with Gardner because its schools have historically been the most engaged with and proactive about the harp program.)

We have the harps, usually the most difficult and expensive part of the endeavor, and now need to fill the instructional role. Virtual Retreats have left our fundraising for the school program below historic levels. This grant would allow us to continue to support the spread of music education programs in Huerfano County.
