Any Donation amount is welcome and helps us with Gallery building maintenance, computer, printing, and office supplies, art exhibit award funds, advertising, insurance, and accounting services. We also need funds to upgrade the sink and plumbing in our classroom space which is used in Art Workshops. If you have skills as a plumber to donate for this need, we would welcome your expertise! We also welcome Volunteers to serve on the Gallery Committee, which coordinates and hangs the art shows, or as a member of the Board of Directors, which meets every other month. Volunteers are also needed to help with workshops and Art in the Park, which we sponsor every year. and to assist staff in various jobs. Finally, a Membership in SPACe helps keep the arts a vibrant part of the community and supports our art education programs.

Spanish Peaks Arts Council (SPACe)
Spanish Peaks Arts Council (SPACe) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) member-supported Huerfano County community of artists and art-loving residents dedicated to the support of the arts and art education in the Spanish Peaks region of Southern Colorado. We have served our community for over 40 years through promoting the arts, particularly the visual arts with art education programs, workshops, and display space at our Gallery building at 132 W. Ryus St in La Veta. Sales of original works in both the Gallery & Gift Shop help artists earn money and generates tax revenue for communities. We promote the benefits of creative practices for youth and adults. Involvement with the arts helps us with personal growth, social connections, and better work/life balance as well as economic benefits. We encourage both beginning and experienced artists to broaden their horizons in their creative practice. Along with an ongoing schedule of changing art shows in our Gallery, we sponsor an annual Student Art Show, Youth Art Workshop and Adult Art Workshops.
