In 2023, La Veta Trails will publish the first Spanish Peaks Region Recreation and Trail Guide to promote the variety of outdoor recreation opportunities in Huerfano County and in our communities. We connect people to the outdoors through our trail work, website, trail map brochures, and guided hikes.  La Veta Trails can noe produce maps thanks to Huerfano County Government which has made its GIS resources available to us. We need to raise $20,000 to compile, design, and print 10,000 copies.

We want businesses, residents, and visitors to have the following:

  • A guide that is available for distribution in printed form, in digital format on the La Veta Trails website, and mobile.

  • An accurate source of information about outdoor recreation available in Huerfano County.

  • Useful maps that identify trails and features along the routes.

  • Maps to showcase Walsenburg, Cuchara, and La Veta, and feature parking, restrooms, points of interest, lodging, dining, coffee shops, libraries, museums, brew pubs and more.

  • A guide that can be shared with customers, family, and friends no matter where they are located.

There are so many excellent outdoor opportunities to showcase, including the following examples:

  • Mountain, road, and gravel biking routes

  • Hiking and running trails

  • Backcountry horse trails

  • ATV motorized trails

  • Boating

  • Fishing

  • Climbing

  • Camping and RV sites

La Veta Trails will update and publish the guide annually. The first guide is the most expensive because it will be the most labor intensive. We will feature your Business Sponsorship Donation in the guide. La Veta Trails has five Business Sponsorship Levels ranging from a minimum donation of $100 to $2,500. In the guide we will publish:

  • Your business logo and website

  • Name of your business

  • Address, phone, and contact information

  • A blurb about your business

In addition to being published in the guide and able to distribute copies to your customers, family, and friends, there are additional benefits based on your sponsorship level. See the chart in images.
